Inaugural Meeting Notes The inaugural meeting of Michigan Women in Cardiology on Dec. 8 was a resounding success. More than 25 attendees enjoyed great networking, interesting discussion, and wonderful Japanese cuisine at Shiro's in Novi. Many thanks to Thoratec for sponsoring the event. Michigan Women in Cardiology will meet again in the spring to discuss specific goals and initiatives. All Women in Cardiology are Invited to Help Launch WIC-e-Mentor To help women FITs and early career FACCs make the best career choices, we have created a WIC-e-Mentor program. Here's how it will work: 1. FACCs will be asked to write a brief paragraph describing their chosen career path, pluses and minuses of what they do, and lessons learned along the way. 2. The paragraphs will be posted anonymously on the WIC-e-Mentor page. 3. FITs and early career FACCs who wish to contact the author of any of the entries, will contact Alice Betz to obtain the appropriate email address. Please help make WIC-e-Mentor a valuable resource by drafting your entry (as described in #1 above) and email it to alice@accmi.org.
