Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of physicians, physician associates, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and nurses.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the symptomatology, etiology and pathophysiology of tricuspid regurgitation.
  • Outline the indications for percutaneous tricuspid valve intervention and optimal selection criteria.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the transcatheter treatment options and device selection.
  • Recognize the significance of imaging in TAVR procedures.
  • Identify the utility of different imaging modalities in the pre-, intra-, and post-procedure stages.
  • Discuss the benefits of imaging in guiding clinical decisions and care of TAVR patients.
  • Identify appropriate indications and patient selection for Cardiac CTA.
  • Review the anatomic and physiologic information available from Cardiac CTA and CTFFR.
  • Discuss the prognostic information available from coronary calcium and coronary plaque data available with Cardiac CT.
  • Recognize clinical implications of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging and diagnostic algorithms in identification of cardiac tumors and thrombi.
  • Recognize the importance of Cardiac Imaging in management and follow up of patients with cardiac masses.
  • Identify key selection criteria for cardiac transplantation.
  • Explore survival benefits of cardiac transplantation.
  • Review recent advancements in transplantation technology that expand the donor pool and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Specify which treatment options are available for treatment of advanced heart failure in 2024 and their associated outcomes.
  • Generalize the temporary support devices under study aimed at treating cardiorenal syndrome.
  • Assess which factors may limit early referral for durable LVAD therapy for patients with advanced HFrEF within your practice.
  • Identify when to escalate treatment of cardiogenic shock (CS) to temporary mechanical circulatory support (MCS).
  • Differentiate benefits and alternatives of different temporary MCS devices in the treatment of CS.
  • Identify modifiable risk factors that promote atrial fibrillation.
  • Recognize the benefit of early rhythm control in managing AF.
  • Discuss new technology for atrial fibrillation ablation.
  • Determine overall risks and complications and AF ablations.
  • Review types of EP procedures are being performed at hospitals without onsite surgery and at ambulatory surgical centers.
  • Discuss safety of performance of AF ablations at hospitals without onsite surgery or at ambulatory surgical centers.
  • Define artificial intelligence.
  • Identify unique opportunities and challenges of AI in atrial fibrillation care, both in research and in day-to-day patient care.
  • Describe ways wearable data and clinic workflows may be modified to integrate AI in outpatient atrial fibrillation care.
  • Explain recent advances in AI applications in Echocardiography.
  • Select appropriate testing and imaging modality.
