THE MICHIGAN CHAPTER OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY
EARLY AND MID-CAREER COACHING PROGRAM

This coaching initiative provides focused, structured support for early and mid-career cardiovascular professionals who are looking to develop specific skills and advance in defined areas of practice. The program emphasizes short-term engagement with clear goals, allowing participants to receive direct guidance on topics such as building a clinical focus, navigating career changes, or preparing for leadership roles.

Each coaching cycle highlights selected priority areas and connects participants with experienced cardiovascular leaders who offer practical advice, mentorship through action planning, and feedback on measurable progress.

ACCMI is inviting seasoned members who are interested in serving as coaches to share their expertise and support the growth of colleagues across the Michigan cardiovascular community. Participation as a coach is open throughout the year.

 

 Target Audience: 

  • Fellows in training who are nearing completion and preparing for independent practice
  • Early career cardiologists establishing their clinical focus, practice structure, or research path
  •  Mid-career members who are considering career transitions, expanding into leadership roles, or developing a new niche

Objectives:

  • Provide structured, goal focused guidance to support career development for early and mid career members
  • Help participants develop practical skills in defined priority areas such as clinical growth, career transitions, and leadership development
  • Connect members with experienced cardiovascular leaders who can offer insight, feedback, and professional perspective
  • Support measurable progress through defined goals, milestones, and accountability
  • Create a scalable framework that can evolve and expand to address emerging professional needs within the Michigan cardiovascular community

The coaching experience is structured as a time limited engagement, typically lasting two to six months. Participants and coaches establish defined goals at the beginning of the cycle and use focused check ins to track progress and measure outcomes.
